Sony MP3 Walkman

These affordable, candy-colored Flash-based players, brought to you by the granddaddy of portable music technology, are oh-so-small and portable, making them a superb choice for athletes and other active types. Cool features include a built-in USB connector, FM tuner and incredibly fast charging (three minutes gives you three hours of play time). Some of the controls, including the volume button, are on the back of the player, and the front has a single-line display (if you're left-handed, you can swing it around to face the other way!). The Walkman has four EQ settings (pop, jazz, heavy and flat) and a five-band custom selection. True to its sport roots, it also has a stopwatch that counts down the minutes and chimes when the time's up. Be warned that you must use Sony's SonicStage software to transfer files to the player, so if you don't like it or you're a fan of another system, the Walkman may not be for you.
